Different Ways to Apply Handrail Tape

Non Abrasive Anti Slip Tape

We hope this guide provides you with an effective way to wrap your handrails and railings with Heskins Handrail Grip Tape. Protect hands from cold railings with this cushioning grip tape that is non-abrasive and offers grip to help them commute up steps and along walkways.

What You Will Need:

Before we begin, we have a checklist of tools you’ll need to complete the job:

First and foremost, ensure you have all your tools to hand.

Step 1 – Clean the Handrail with H3508 IPA Surface Cleaner

Before beginning, cleaning the surface before applying safety tape is essential, so grab your H3508 IPA cleaner and a cloth and wipe down the railings or handrail. You need to remove all the contaminants or debris that could affect the adhesive side of the tape.

Step 2 – Find out the Required Length of Tape

Wrap the tape around the handrail to find the required length. Keep the backing liner intact, so the grip tape doesn’t stick.

Step 3 – Cut the Tape to the Desired Length

Grab your scissors and cut your handrail tape to the precise length as measured. You want to try not to cut too much off or too little because this could affect the result.

Step 4 – Peel Off the Adhesive Backing Liner

Begin peeling off all the adhesive film from the back of the tape. During this step, avoid contact with surfaces, as the sticky layer could get stuck, affecting the adhesive.

Step 5 – Apply the Handrail Grip Tape

Apply the handrail tape in a spiral direction so it wraps around the bar in loops. Remove the backing liner in segments to ensure you are happy with the placement, and then you know it’s in the correct position avoiding potential wrinkles.

Step 6 – Apply Pressure to Stick the Tape Down

Ensure you are happy with the application so far, as removing the tape once fully applied is tricky. Finally, apply firm pressure across the handrail tape’s surface to ensure the adhesive side is secure on the railing.

What is H3418 Handrail Grip Tape?

Heskins Handrail Tape is a non-abrasive non-slip tape designed for domestic or work-related use. Our main goal is to provide extra grip to people holding staircase bannisters or walkway railings. The cushioning grip tape also offers protection to hands from cold metal handrails. Safety measures improve the user’s confidence by reducing the chance of slips or falls! The term non-abrasive means the tape material isn’t non-harmful to the skin and is designed with symmetrical embossing to provide the best grip possible.
